That isn't going to be an issue, Victory will be a 6th shard on the Homecoming server select list.

I'm not sure what instructions you are referring to, or what you mean by "Seeing characters". If you mean the email from "Closed Beta" that's not us, and their server merge is a different thing from ours.

This should be fixed by the server restart I just did. Verified I can enter missions and new maps with no problem.

Global emails should transfer over with no issue. Currently Character Items migrate, but not Account Items. The migration code is still being written though so don't worry about claiming account items just yet.

If the connection to the server doesn't succeed the config isn't read, I need to fix that but the root issue is you're not getting the bootstrap.xml from the server, so the launcher stops all processing.

This means that something is blocking the connection out to this website from the Launcher. Usually that's some Anti-Virus, or FIrewall. I've only been able to reproduce this by breaking the network connection of the launcher as it's loading.

Hello, with the recent announcement that Homecoming has been granted a License to operate their City of Heroes™ Servers, we have been invited to merge Victory in as a 6th shard along their existing shards. You will need to opt in to the transfer of your City of Heroes™ data to Homecoming, if you do not link your Victory account to Homecoming, your data will not be transferred, and you will lose your Characters and Supergroups. If you do not already have a Homecoming account you will need to create both a Forum account AND Game account here: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/getting-started/, and then head to our Account panel https://cityofheroes.dev/forums/account-tools/gameaccount.html/ and link the accounts. There is no ETA currently for the merge, but it will be happening in the near future. When our server is merged into Homecoiming, you will keep your characters, their inventory, character descriptions and any Supergroup bases your characters own. Your global handle may end up changed if it conflicts with an existing global handle in use on Homecoming. Auction house data may or may not come across, and Architect Entertainment (Mission Architect) arcs will NOT transfer, if you wish to bring your MA Arcs across please make sure you save the arcs and custom critters and re-publish them after the merge.

Once you hit Apply, you have to click the impossibly tiny X button on the corner of the settings dialog, or close the window via Menu -> Options. If you click "Cancel" even after having clicked Apply it undoes your changes.

The only time the launcher should download any files, is if the version number server side doesn't match the version number cached locally on the launcher's side, and even then it shouldn't re-download everything, unless all of the files don't match the hashes from the server. There are no settings on the launcher that would cause this, other than the config.json file not being present. The Website downtime yesterday was due to the core switch that the webserver and gameserver are connected to having power issues, those should be resolved now.

You can only have a single game account linked to a single forum account. The Game Account page I linked in your other thread will allow you to either make an account, or change the password for your current game account. That password is not shared with your forum account, the two systems are 100% separate from each other. I see you already have a game account created that is tied to this forum account, so all you need to do is go to the Game Account page: https://cityofheroes.dev/forums/account-tools/gameaccount.html/ The "Account Name" there is what you use @ the login screen in game, the password set there is also only for the game. If you want a second game account, you need to sign up for a second forum account, game account names are unchangeable after they are created.

Fortunately for us, they have been thwarted every year by the valiant efforts of Heroes and Villains who stop these spooky beings in their tracks! However, their persistence leads them to bolster their ranks if their attempts at world scaring are to succeed. The Unseelie Court's Hollow Reapers are ever-vigilant at seeking mystic methods to bring frightful fears! These reapers are using their spectral scythes to widen the rifts, allowing even more terrifying creatures of the night to invade when somebody is tricked whilst Trick-or-Treating! This can't be good... ? What is there to do during the Victory Halloween Event? ? Frightful Fights: Trick-or-Treating! Five Elite Boss enemies that can spawn while Trick-or-Treating above Level 25!
